Will it be bracelet #3 for JP Kelly?
Will it be bracelet #3 for JP Kelly?

After an intense day filled with amazing poker action we are down to just 15 players. The day started with 239 players and it didn't take long before we reached the money bubble. A total of 216 players managed to cash for at least $2,893 and amongst the players to bust out shortly after that was saw Carter Gill, Terrence Chan and Jason Mercier who all picked up a min cash.

Brent Hanks was knocked all the way down to just a few antes when he started an impressive run. Hanks managed to survive the day with a nice stack as did Vanessa Selbst who is looking to grab her second WSOP bracelet. Dan Smith was also amongst the players with massive swings but right before the end he busted when he got unlucky. His ace-queen failed to hold up against king-jack after being well out in front with a flopped pair of aces.

Last years 26th finisher in the WSOP Main Event, JP Kelly, also had an amazing day. Kelly has to be the most experience player left in the field with two WSOP bracelets under his belt from 2009. Kelly managed to win the $1,500 Pot Limit Hold'em in Las Vegas and added a titel in London when he won the £1,000 No Limit Hold'em tournament just three months later.

Play will resume tomorrow at 1pm local time with with Jacob Bazeley as our chip leader. Bazeley is a regular on the WSOP Circuit with four final tables behind his name. His biggest result so far was a 66th place finish in last years Main Event giving him a nice $108,412 pay day. In order to top that result Bazeley has to finish at least fifth tomorrow. The winner tomorrow will walk him with the first bracelet in an open event at the 2012 WSOP and a hefty $517,725 top prize. Make sure to tune in to PokerNews.com as we bring you all the updates as the final day of this tournament will unfold.

Dan Smith (17th) and Nicolas Verkaik (16th) Eliminated ($18,890)

Kwinsee Khoa Tran just moved all-in for 233,000 chips and after Vanessa Selbst had folded her cards it was onto Dan Smith. He tanked for a bit and than moved all-in as well. The other players folded and we got to see the following showdown.

Dan Smith{A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}
Kwinsee Khoa Tran{K-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}

The board ran out {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{J-Hearts} and with another very unlucky river Smith lost most of his chips. He was knocked down to just 40,000. The very next hand Vanessa Selbst raised to 24,000 from the hijack and Smith, who was in the cutoff, moved all-in. Nicolas Verkaik was sitting on the button and quickly he decided to move in for his last 199,000 chips. Action got folded back around to Selbst who gave it some thought and made the call.

Dan Smith{A-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}
Vanessa Selbst{7-Spades}{7-Clubs}
Nicolas Verkaik{A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}

The board ran out {2-Spades}{5-Clubs}{6-Spades}{3-Spades}{8-Diamonds} giving Selbst the winner and all of a sudden we are down to just 15 players.

The board ran out {Q-Hearts}{6-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} giving Bazeley a pair of tens and the win.
